Northland Power – Intelligent Energy for a Greener Planet

On completion, the Deutsche Bucht offshore wind farm will generate approximately 1.1 billion kilowatt hours of electricity per year, enough to supply 328,000 households with clean energy. Northland Power is proud to support the expanded implementation of renewable energy.

The 269 megawatt Deutsche Bucht wind farm is the third North Sea wind farm of Canada-based independent power producer Northland Power Inc. Northland is a listed power company headquartered in Toronto, Canada. The company was founded in 1987, and develops, builds, owns and operates power facilities generating clean and green energy from natural gas, solar and wind power. Northland has facilities in various locations in Canada and Europe with a total installed output of approximately 2,029 megawatts (as of March 2018). They include the two existing North Sea wind farms Gemini and Nordsee One, in which Northland Power has stakes of 60 and 85 percent, respectively.

The offshore wind farm Deutsche Bucht is being built by the project company Northland Deutsche Bucht based in Hamburg, which is 100 per cent owned by Northland Power Inc.
